Needing a few more AWESOME ideas for my “sports themed” basement bar/rec room, can u help?

Chell asked:

My fave teams are Fighting Illini and St. Louis Cardinals. I am a HUGE fan of NBA and NFL teams, my son is into NHL. We have numerous autographs and other memorabilia we are planning to put up on the walls…just looking for other creative input!!! Thanks for your time!

I’ve seen some lamps and also paddle fans that have a sports theme - like basketball. I don’t recall a particular team on them. Your memorabilia on the walls is great. Since you are in basement, do you have concrete floors? You could paint them with a basketball court, though that would require some upkeep. Might be nice to just wax them and buff them to make them shine. Can add a pool table and if space is small, a bumper pool table. If you do one of the octagonal ones you can get a top that is a card table top to add on top for playing cards or for putting on a cloth for a dinner. While regular billiard table is really nice, it does take a lot of space. Maybe you have room for that. You can put basketball nets over a waste basket and you can shoot your baskets with paper - or a nurf ball. I’ve seen them in some magazines ready to put on the trash cans so you should be ab le to find them. You wonn’t need much for walls whenyou have the memorabilia, but you will have to find a way to attach frames to the walls to hold your items or maybe put hangers down from the rafters along the wall and you can have a dropped ceiling over the attachment.

Good luck. I’m sure yur family will love their rec rroom. Be sure to have a tv there for game playing with Nintendo or whatever games you use as well as watching the ame.
